Hahahaha I didn't have to do that personally.. but getting mumma to do it first is usually the trick 

Weaning them off mum's milk is the fun bit now, put out some food, get them to open their tiny little mouths and pop some in and watch them chew. Then watch them lick their lips... and think mmmmm that's yummy!

Eventually they seek it out for themselves and job done they're liking their solid food!

its amazing watching kittens grow. and momma thinking FINALLY im not the lunch lady. they try, and shes like NOPE ! not gonna happen.

Little mum's still happy with them feeding off her for the moment... funny story... when she was a kitten their size and a bit older (not so long ago!) she refused to eat kitten food and would only eat adult cat food. Now, put kitten food in for them and she scoffs it down before they can get a nose in...

i remember in the mid 90s i used to partake of cigs of the "herbal" variety anyhoo there is a cat story here lol. 6 ppl 5 joints and 1 cat. all going anti-clockwise. only thing we had to do was keep the cat AWAY from the campfire. beffore this, her cat was as hateful as anything. after this it was the most mellow feline ever. plus iit quit eating catfood after this. it would only munch on puppy chow . and would follow us all everywhere. was doing great until its passing a few years ago. was an adorable cat. ( a tortoise shell) tbh id never do this again if the opportunity presented itself. mainly because you had to focus your entirety on this cat. we ended up getting it back on catfood. but it took awhile. but it lived nearly to 20yo. teeth were perfect as was his bones, muscles as well as joints " no pun intended" now my cat named dammit follows me around like a dog. i believe because when i brought him home, i was the closest thing to a parent that it knew.
OH get this, insurance will cover the prosthetic leg, i pick it up tomorrow. . I DO WANT TO GET MY HANDS ON SOME LEGOS to cover the frame and carbon fibre bits. i will also have a spare lower segment to which i will fasten addys piston to as a foot. :"(

Great news on the leg!!! 

Definitely gotta be careful with that situation... years ago my wife and I were looking after my brother's cat. He lost one back leg after an altercation with what was probably a car but he was a bit of a legendary cat.

Anyway, we came home one night to see him lying in the middle of the road just looking at us drive up to him and he just wouldn't move which freaked us right out (he was normally real quick to move despite the missing leg).

My wife jumped out and picked him up and he absolutely stank of pot smoke, and we knew exactly which neighbour it was! He went there regularly because they fed him apparently and it looked like they let him inside and partook quite a lot while he was in there. My wife had some words with them...

He was a stray my brother adopted and he didn't cope well when locked inside, so that wasn't an option unfortunately.

As to our kittens here... well it's a mad house in there! They're either passed out or hyper running around everywhere... and now mum has decided she won't eat anything but kitten food... 

Smart mama !! I'm thinking it's probably good that she's after the kitten food... has more nutrients and whatnot in it that she probably lost while her milk bar was open to the kits 

Aye Pete. Ended up UN potheading the cat due to the fact it would follow ANYONE hoping they would share. That's a thing I will NEVER do again. Oh got the new leg. I placed an update in doc thread. But its not seeing much in traffic. So here's a thumbnail.

Yep I reckon your spot on ShowBiz, her milk bar is still open non stop... at least the kittens get in on the kitten food action too, they're starting to really enjoy it!

Took my friend home around 4:30am, got into bed around 5, took an hour nap, got up at 6 for church and breakfast with the parentals and now it's time for some SLEEP !!

We have chooks now..

(Both bunnies got Myxamatosis just before xmas and we had to send them to heaven)

.. Anyway.. Chooks are funny!.. Come sit with us on back verandah, cluck and parp little chats to us..  Go racing off around the yard chasing garden moths which is belly laugh time! They pinball around everywhere!.. 2 chooks and 2 eggs a day for time being.... When you crack the eggs the whites are so firm and not oozy!
One of them also will jump to my lap, to chair arm then to my shoulder and inspect my bald head in case it suddenly bursts forth with tasty bugs! Lololol

I'm a Professional Truck Driver.. Get me out of the "circus" i work at!
