ill check my shims, i'd rather trade instead of sell tbh so im not losing shims..

I wonder what ever happened to the shim kit thread, I'm pretty sure this was the forum..

I can trade...I was thinking of starting a trade thread...guess someone beat me to it. I'll post back what I have shortly.

Alright so the shims that I have available for trade are:

2.30
2.35
2.40
2.65

Looking for one 2.53.

Thanks

I'll try to remember to check when I get home. How close does it need to be to 2.53?
Obviously 2.50 and 2.55 are going to be far more common.

Suzi Q

Looking specifically for 2.53. It will be a factory shim, not a kit shim. 2.50 is what's in there now, so I guess I have that one to trade as well. 2.55 too thick.

Thanks

2.53 is a shim that was only used at the factory. Not a easy shim to find and was never sold otherwise.
I did valve adjustments for years before I ran into a non 5 or 0 ending shim. So, my question is - why do you need a 2.53 - put a 2.50 in it and run.

I would imagine that since there is currently a 2.50 shim in there, the clearance is currently to loose, thus, they need a 2.53 shim?

Bluesmudge

The suzuki spec has a .05 mm range so that an over-the-counter shim ending in 0 or 5 will always work.
Also, its better to be a little too loose than too tight. Especially on the exhaust valves. I run mine ~.08 - .13 mm.

Suzi Q

Thanks for the comments. Still looking for 2.53 if anybody has. Thanks
