Hi all, I bought a GS500 to do up but after a few miles up road the right hand cylinder gives up (no spark) its had two new coils, I was thinking of changing the regulator/rectifier, would this make any difference or does the regulator/rectifier only involved in the charging side? Any help greatly appreciated.

The regulator-rectifier is part of the charging system. Your problem has been mentioned on this forum before. I hope one of the persons who has fixed the problem gives you some input.

Try swapping the plugs & ignition coils from left to right. Also trace the wires from the signal generator - no continuity would also give you no spark on one side.

It's opener there in the wide open air...

Losing 1 cyl when hot is usually crank trigger.
In some odd circumstances it could be that cyl's carb but probably unlikely.

Where is the crank trigger? It's a 1989

That round cover on the right end of the crank, under that is a plate with 2 trigger coils. Hitting them with cold spray will revive the bad one, that's your proof its bad.
