Excited about both 

The tank is $AU721.05, which I actually don't find bad at all... considering it's for a 30+ year old model they no longer sell...

Trying to do some financial calculations at the moment but I think with the money I'm consequently not spending on the tank repair/rust treatment, I can hopefully spend on getting the gearbox and bottom end bits and pieces, so by the time January rolls around I might be able to get that stuff as well which will put me well on track for a June 2018 completion

speaking of waterheaters going south like the union army,  mine did, 8 months ago. course its been in basement since the 70s sooooo 30+ years isnt too bad lol. had 3 items from same era. the waterheater, the stove and the fridge. all the same pea green colour. ( sears kenmore). the double oven still works great .. everything else has died.  lol

Don't worry I'm a bit the same EJ... I'm having to exercise great financial discipline right now! Still sticking transmission parts into a spreadsheet but I *think* I'll be ok to get the bottom end in January 

Yep Yama, that's the way it goes! This house was built late 60's/early 70's so we've had our fun fair share of stuff here too... at least all the electrical bits and pieces have been replaced over the years...

Oh, and the initial sanding is done!! Time for body filler, sand that back, then putty, guide coat to check for low/high spots, more sanding, then primer and paint

anyhoo i had a month to come up with an illustration for church christmas bulletin/program. this i did in 45 minutes. not quite finished as of yet.

That's pretty cool, I can barely draw a stick figure!

Had to get the 450 towed home the night before last due to a screw in the rear tyre

I did get a bit of filler on the cowl yesterday, but I'd forgotten how quick it goes off, so I need to get back to it after the gym this morning and mix smaller batches. It would be easier if there was one big area needing filling, but it's all the little screw holes and low spots so it's going to be a bit tedious. If I can get that done this morning I'll consider it a win
