Evening all, I'm Rob from Somerset, England.
Just picked up my new child yesterday, Blue GS500F 2004 k4.
Back into biking again after a 18 year break due to kids, and as my youngest has just got his first bike, it's only right that i now go out on father/son rides together!!!  :woohoo:
I ride because it gives me the space to empty my mind off all that is bad and refill it with good.

Brand new female gs500f rider from the Bay Area, California. Just turned 32 and finished the ncmt course 2 weeks ago. Been riding as a passenger for about 2 years, and wanted to do more.

Anyone in my area interested in doing some mentoring, please let me know!

Hi guys and girls, new member from Wollongong here.
I picked up an '06 model online for $500. It has been down on the right side and busted a few bits, but for $150 I gathered all the pieces I needed and got it running. The engine sounds good but I didn't ride it before I started pulling it apart for some devious modifications. Nothing that hasn't been done before, I'm planning to fit longer suspension and use it for a bit of off road exploring and probably fit it with a sidecar at some stage.

Sean O.

Hello to all! I'm Sean. I live in North Carolina. I bought my first bike, a 2011 a year and a half ago. LOVE LOVE LOVE the thing. I got a good price from a really cool guy who was moving back to France. I've put just under 9K on it this year. I ride whenever possible.  My longest ride is 100 miles one way and about 100 miles back several days later. Interested in doing some longer rides.

The board has already been a big help to me. Thanks.

New rider... have an 09 500F.
Trying to make it alittle more comfortanle to ride and enjoyable

Have the usual issues... front forks bottoming out under brakes , crappy brakes , uncomfortable grips..etc
Once I work thru the issues it should be a fun bike to ride for my daily commute

Hi,

I am Lauri from UK near Oxford. Have 1992 GS500E Slingshot. Bought it in October 2017, had 75 000 miles on it. Still in very much getting familiar with the bike and its character. Taken it out now a few times and really enjoyed it.

39 years old Physicist working with laser and applications research and development.
15 years of riding 24/7...
Have downgrade my motorcycle cc with an GS to learn mechanics and to learn track riding.
My gs is a 2004 with lot of issues that are teaching me how a motorcycle really looks inside and how it works.
My idea to my bike is to make it a track rat... that I can also use in daily routines.
I am from São Paulo, Brazil.
Is an honor to be part of the GS twins site.

cheers

penguin7316 I live on the island of Tasmania which is a state of Australia. I have bought a 2006 GS500 Suzuki motorcycle. Over the years I have owned several motorcycles. I traded a Royal Enfield single cylinder 350 in on the GS. The Royal Enfield was made in India and was a very poorly constructed motorcycle. Do not ever buy one of these. I am happy with the GS500 and it looks like it will be a good reliable motorcycle. It is nice to have electric start as the Royal Enfield was kick start only and at 65 years old I can do with out having to kick start a motorcycle. The only problem that I have is the foot pegs. I may have to buy some different ones so I can move them further down and towards the front only by 2 inches so my old arthritic legs and feet are in a more comfortable position. How they are now means that my legs are bent back and this gets very uncomfortable after about 15 minutes of riding. I am enjoying reading the forum entries. Bob
