Hi-Beam Indicator Always On

Hi everyone,

First-time poster; looking for some insight into an issue I'm having.

One day I took my '04 GS500F into work, and it had unexpectedly rained for a few minutes. When I started the bike, I noticed that my hi-beam indicator light was out, despite the hi-beams properly functioning with the switch.

I used this opportunity to upgrade the dash with LEDs (minus the turn signal indicator). When I popped out the incandescent, it looked blown. I swapped it with the LED, and I noticed that the hi-beam indicator was now always on. The hi-beam itself was still operational. I swapped the LED for a working incandescent bulb, and the incandescent was also always on.

I then upgraded the headlight from incandescent to the Bikemaster HID 6000K H4HL kit, and the parking light to a T10 LED. Despite a successful upgrade and working hi/low beam operation, the hi-beam indicator is still always on.

Lastly, I replaced the entire left handlebar switch/assembly with a new one. The old one looked like two wires had melted together, but even with the new switch my hi-beam indicator is still always on.

Can anyone offer some insight as to why the hi-beam indicator is always on?
