I am in the bay area and just picked up a very beat-up 1996 GS and managed to get it running, but it is still missing a few things.

I am on an extreme budget but have unexpectedly fallen in love with the bike, it's much more exciting than I had anticipated, and I would like to get it running as sweetly as possible.

5x side panel grommets – missing
One bar end weight – missing
round mirrors – missing
gas tank – dented quite badly
gas tank rubber triangle at the front – missing
front brake lever – broken
front brake switch – missing
seat – holes

What year GS500? Some of those parts are year specific (tachometer, bar end weight, gas tank, seat, and possibly the side panel grommets).

Edit, nevermind. I could have just looked at the picture. Looks like a later E model. Maybe 1998? Anyways, you need a mechanical Tach and an E style seat and tank.
