So I picked up a 2007 GS500F 22K miles and have no history on the bike. It did not run when I picked her up. So I poured in some fresh gas (tank was empty but clean), pulled carbs and cleaned all the jets (stock sizes). Noticed the PO added some aftermarket coils with some crappy pinch connector. So I cleaned up the wiring keeping the wires going to their prospective location the PO had used. I am not sure if they are wired correctly or not and not sure if making hot enough spark.

I am able to get it to run but from idle to 4K it seems to be running on one cylinder. Spark is present on both sides.

Two areas of help needed:

1. Ideas what to check next

2. I ordered some OE coils and would like to verify the correct wiring sequence to them, anyone know what wire goes to which spade terminal?

Update

Checked valves...right exhaust valve is tight, suspecting an constant open exhaust valve.

I still need to know which is the positive terminal on the coil? The bigger tab or smaller. Anyone?
