2005 GS500 issues starting after carb clean

Hello everyone. I'm having issues troubleshooting my 2005 GS500 (non F).
I took the carbs off, removed the float bowl caps, cleaned out the gunk from the float bowls and thoroughly sprayed carb cleaner through all 3 of the jets in each bowl, soaked them for a bit in carb cleaner as well. I was being careful not to get carb cleaner on anything that wasn't metal, and the gaskets and O-rings looked fine so I reused them.
I did not touch anything having to do with mixture as the bike ran alright beforehand (though it had trouble starting in temps around 4 deg Celsius and would sometimes momentarily choke under full throttle at about 4-5k revs which is why I took to cleaning the carbs other than just figuring it'd be beneficial to do)
I made the mistake of only marking a few of the hoses and where they connect, and I can't seem to find anything decent online on how they're supposed to be connected. I only really found the 2 pictures attached online though I find them a bit unclear so despite trying to follow them it's possible I've not connected it properly.
In any case, the bike starts if I spray starter fluid into the intake but it does not stay running and I can't get it to start on its own. I recently checked and cleaned the frame petcock, after which it started on a bit of starter fluid and ran with a very low idle for about 30s before dying, I couldn't replicate that afterwards. I only changed the spark plugs 6 months ago but I checked them regardless, they seem to be good. Fuel comes out if I unscrew the float drain screws, so I assume the carb is getting fuel.

Any ideas as to why I can't get it to start if it ran okay beforehand? I'll upload pics of the way I connected the fuel/vac lines tomorrow, maybe I made an error.
Also, I've left it on prime for a few minutes yet I don't see any fuel overflowing

TL;DR: cleaned float bowls and jets, bike doesn't start now

Thank you in advance

Try starting in PRI.
If the vacuum hose is not connected to the vacuum ports of the carb, the petcock will shut off gas flow at ON position
Also,  a vacuum leak will make very a hard start and rough idle

Time to remove all the PAIR crap

I attempted to start it in prime beforehand as well, nothing. I suppose it's not getting actual fuel after all. I took the carbs apart again (can't check diaphragms cause the screws just won't budge, rounded out the head of one even using my JIS screwdriver) but I assume they work okay as the slides seem to be sliding normally.
After cleaning (again) and checking float height is in spec, I put it all back on the bike, set the petcock to PRI and unscrewed the drain screws to see if anything comes out - nothing.

So I guess improperly connected lines could be at fault?
Other than the connections in the pics there's a short braided line from the bottom T-piece that I connected to the petcock and the 2 hoses that connect to the lower left side of the airbox (the overflow(?) hose and PAIR air cleaner hose. I hope someone can tell me if is incorrect as I have no idea. I'll provide more/clearer pics if need be

It's been so long since I removed all the PAIR crap I can't remember where it all goes. You only need one vacuum hose from the carb to the petcock, plus the two fuel hoses. Everything else can be removed and capped off.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind if I run into issues but I actually got it to fire up and run in the end with the setup above. I was turning the gas tank screw beyond 'on' (but not to off) which seemingly makes it close as well, thus no fuel  :hithead: .
The revs hang a bit after letting off the throttle now which it didn't do before but I assume that's because I fiddled with the idle speed adjuster and set it too high, so I'll dial that back and test tomorrow. Seem to have some electrical gremlins now too as the rev gauge is a bit slow and wonky.
