Mission Accomplished!!!

Rolled the odometer... 2002 GS500 purchased July 2014 with 14K mi

Thanks to Suzuki Bridgestone BT45/BT46 tyre, it was possible to make this important result 💪🏽

I can no longer do any valve adjustments on the left exhaust valve (2.75mm shim  ) Looking for another 2001-2002 GS500...may need to travel far.

Well done, are you using much oil? Possibly just shorten that valve? could also be an option.

Oh man does it use oil, like gas  These bikes do that anyway on highway starting at ~7k prolonged rpm.

It's been using oil since 30K Mi...just got used to checking the oil in the garage after every 200mi, which becomes harder on longer trips trying to find a flat surface. I carry a quart of oil and just estimate pouring by muscle memory on trips counting to 3

Bike has 103K Mi on it now...engine is noisy when cold, but sounds normal once warmed up...

New valves,guides and a timing chain would be cheaper than another bike.
200k would be great to see.

hmm...that would require a mechanic, which doesn't seem likely, in terms of cost

I love seeing the 100+k miles GS500s. That seems to be roughly their limit without some top end work. Great work, that's a lot of seat time on a buzzy GS500.

I haven't even hit 60k miles yet but have a long term goal of seeing the bike to 100k miles some day.

I don't find the GS500 buzzy at all, especially below 70 and compared to my BMW G310 single

Always wondered if buzziness staments are often made by the same people that says that a gs500 is too slow and you have to ride a 80hp+ machine. We know our machines have their limitations but let's be realistic.

Caburetion health and a proper sync is also crucial for smoothness.
