OK sent the bars to Brandiwine and Kee.
Sent Cave savers to Raylarrabee and Crash
Fork brace to nicebelair
carbs to crimson.
Now I discovered one little issue with the bars... they powder coating has added a good 1-2 hundredths... and the throttle tube wont slide on... So sand it off before fitting the throttle tube. Everything else will fit just fine. Its powder coating... will sand off very easy. I dont want to sand them cos then they will rust there... You take off just enough to let the throttle tube slide on and work wihtout binding ....
Cool.

But the lousy GS started up only to die 3 mins later... and now the starter just whirrs... nothing else does...  :x
Anyway... as a complete newbie... or close - Please document as much of the installation of the case savers as you can. The slotted end goes on the bottom BTW and you will need 2 people atleast for the most part taking old bolts off and getting the new ones tightened. Its a standard bolt, much like the lousy factory supplied one, but the ones I sent are a better grade, a longer length... the factory ones were shorter than the stock and I think they will fit a 14mm socket. Also get washers... those small OD ones... and some big OD ones and some split ones and some spacers... You never know what you may need ... and nothing worse than driving 5 miles to Home depot... to get a lousy 8 cent washer. Also the case savers ... some of them have a gap in welding right at the hole on the end plate... that was intentional... didn't want to weld up 1/2 that hole and not be able to fit it. It souldn't make a difference in strength... and physically its a a point where that area will never see tension... or a pull apart sorta force, unless you were rolling backwards when dropping it.... OK ok in a slide bikes spin around ... so it may get some tension... but the weight of the bike will press it together... and that will be more than the tension.. I think.
Cool.

Yea sorry about the powder coating... that thing goes on like plastic... Take off just enough with a sand paper... and slide throttle on... They make the stockers wihtout paint in that area for a reason I guess... But powder coat is good protection against elements... so I guess thick is good.
Cool.

i got my stuff last night, thanks Srinath

the only thing i didn't get were the instructions  :o

now, i understand the fundamentals - pull out old rod, stick in new one and attach guards.  the only thing i don't get is the whole "outside of the frame" thing.  are you suggesting that we stack up ~1in of washers on each side so that the bar tongues go outside the frame?

OK I'll take some tommorow... and not 1 inch thick washers... just maybe 2 X 1/8th inch... for a 1/2 inch space... I dont know... maybe that isn't the best... I am just thinking, in a hard crash... it might be that little bit extra insurance... The suzuki ones are supposed to be right flush with the case...
Oh crap ... I'll attempt it tommorow... I have mine in with stainless rods I threaded up with a tap...
Cool.
