Shoe Clip-ons to make sparks??

The other day from work I was riding along the road and just  put my feet along the road as I rode and I thought about this:
I was watching the Biker Boyz trailer the other day and I noticed that some rider was standing along side his bike and like surfing the road with sparks comming off the soles of his shoes. I think that is stupid dangerous but cool. :thumb:
I don't ever plan on attempting tricks or anything. I am too scared something might happen and I have watched too many video clips of guys performing or trying to perform tricks and lose it and just trashing their bike.
Not to say I would ever do that (still noobie, and would't want to trash my new bike) but does anyone know a place that sells clipons of that sort?

I've got a pair of old tap dancing shoes that make hella sparks.

Plus I can do that old sachmo shuffle when I get to the illegal drag races.

Got news for ya.... Just riding along with your feet dangling at the side of the bike is a great way to go down.  All it takes is a slight touch from toe of your shoe to the road to throw your leg back and ulitmately you and the bike to the ground.  Maybe just borrow Jake D's tap dancing shoes and perform a few numbers in the middle of a local mall.  That should get you all the attention you're looking for.  Then you can put your regular shoes back on and have a safe ride home.

I cant tell you how rediculious that question is, its just as bad in my opinion as the "how do you wheelie" or how do you stoppie" or "I went 100 mph today" threads.

I am not coming down on you personally, but at some point people who do wheelies and stoppies, and now dragging your feet to make sparks, are going to go down and hurt themseves.

I think there is just as much enjoyment in riding safe, and enjoying the fresh air and scenery.

But if you are hell bent on self distruction, then rivit some steel or titanium plates to the soles of your shoes. I mean it will give the paramedics something to talk about when they are picking your body parts up off the highway.

I love the threads that go "I don't want to do (blank), but where exactly can I buy the things I need to (blank)?" You wouldn't ask where to get the item if you didn't want to do it.

And by the way, Biker Boyz is a movie, and they can do things in movies that real people don't do. Of course people can skitch behind their bikes, but I wouldn't suggest doing so. Nor would I suggest blasting through a train crossing in a car (ala Fast and Furious, a movie of similar caliber and most likely with the same fanbase).

If you REALLY want to shoot sparks and don't mind taking a change of crashing...  Try dragging your heels while you're on the bike first...  Then put some screws in the heel of your boots...  Or screw in a metal plate...  Then drag your heel while you're sitting on the bike.

Not quite as cool, but a lot less likely to force the purchace of a gear and bike. :thumb:

You don't have to lean very far for your centerstand to scrape. :P

ajgs500

Better yet just tape some fireworks to your shoes and halfway down the road light those biatches.  That should send up some crazy sparks :thumb:  :thumb: .  Oh and be real careful when you lean down to light those.  You go where you look you know. :)

stick a screecharoo in your exhaust and when it gets hot enough....you get the idea.

There is only one safe place for your feet, and that's on the pegs.  IMHO

IF you were to try to make sparks with your shoes draggin' get a metal plate, drill some holes in it, then use 1/4" wood screws to attatch it to the bottom of the heel of your boots.  Drag heels, and VIOLA! spark city!

Well today I had to try something.  So I managed to find some screws and screw about 9 of one kind in the heel and 4 of another in the other heel. To compare.
Well it worked! It was cool. I didn't stand on the side of the bike like in the movie, I just put my heels down while riding. Sparks flew about 6-18 inches behind my shoe depending how hard I put my shoe down. A few times I thought my shoe was going to catch on fire or something from the amount of aparks that were comming off.
When I got home and checked my shoes. One screw came off of one shoe and 6 came off of the other. I might try that steel plate that oppy was talking about later.

Thanks for all the smart remarks, cautions and tips.  :thumb:
