Would be nice to make a full race seat based on the 01+ that fits on the 89-00, now wouldnt it.

That would be nice. New style seat and tailight etc for older bikes.

I am pondering makeing an "upgrade" kit. Depends on hard it will be to adapt the new tail bodywork to the old tank, seat, and subframe.

It is normally primered, but I can make it "naked" CF.  Sure I will ship to Europe.

What are you interested in?

Still working on it.  Right now I can't even keep up with orders for race tails!

I'm waiting for someone to fall down and wreck one of my tails so I can use it to mold a solo cover from.

JUST KIDDING!!!

Common sense in not very common.

Just received my race tail today from James and I have to say I'm very pleased! :thumb:   I've been running the bike with the stock seat and plastic and this solo seat is going to knock a few pounds off the total weight of the bike!  Thanks again James!

PS:  History suggests that I might be a prime candidate to crash test your tail, but I won't be racing at Gratten until June so you'll have to wait!  :)

do u have any pictures of the supersport (uses stock seat) tail?
Don't mind me I'm just new.

JamesG

Don't have one yet.
I am going to try to take a "stock" mold of the new style tail before I build a race tail of it. But I don't know when I'll be able to get around to doing the same for the old one...

JamesG,

when you get the solo seat cowl made, what kinda price you think it'll be around? i'm very interested, any estimate of how long it might take until you're selling them?

jusfuris

would this seat be ok for everyday riding if i put a nice seat on it? or is it strictly race only? why is it "no compromises"?

JamesG

I really say its just for racing, because I designed it to be as absolutely light as possible. So it doesn't use the seat base, the tail is enclosed and rests directly on the sub-frame rails.
Having said that, several guys HAVE bought them for their street bikes, and I haven't gotten any nasty letters from their proctologists yet, so....

hey have any update on that CF gastank yet?  If so, would you have a package deal for the OEM CF replacement and the gastank?  maybe add the solo cowl as well??  Me kinda interested in a full carbon fiber GS  :) .  If not yet, how much would you estimate it to?

JamesG

I just encased a 01+ tank in fiberglass this week, building up a mold for it. Still need to do a mold for the bottom of the tank, that will be the hard part, and will have to wait until I get caught up on the race lower and some other projects. But its moving along.

I plan on having a composite 01+ tank and rear bodywork ready around the new year, as a "retrofit" kit for older bikes.
