Sure .. if you agree to tutor me on music theory and digital audio (recording, mixing, etc) and maybe ... oh ... podcasting in general. :icon_rolleyes:

Looking sweet there morbidelli!  :thumb: What tha hell is a SV500? Something homemade or something we don´t have here in europe?

Haven´t got to much work done on the bike lately, mosly because i´m waiting for parts to continue. Then i ran out of gas in the welder , so i haven´t been able to finish all the mountings either. Hopefully i´ll be able to order clipons, footrests and windshield soon. And as soon as i get my gas tube replaced i can proceed with the mountings to.

Will show progress pics when i have some..

It's an SV650 with a Japan-market SV400's crank, stock SV650 pistons, and custom Carrillo rods. Makes a nifty little race bike for the 500cc classes ...

Keep up the good work. I love this bodywork.

Music theory? Thats my specialty!  Oh, dig the bike by the way. The deepest red you can find. Oh yeah. That looked nice. Perhaps candy.

Hi,

This weekend i finaly got something done on the bike. All the moutings on the frame are finished, and the support frame for the upper fairing is also finsihed. I added some mounting bars to fit the gauges later on. The rear subframe are finshed, and i also made mountingplates for numberplate, indicators and rearlight. As you can se the frame is totaly stripped, and are almost ready for primer and paint. Wheels will also get painted soon.

I need to modify the upper fairing to mount som "projector" headlights into it, but thats probably all i have to with the fairings before prime and paint.

Feels good to see some results, and i can´t wait till i can put all clean and painted parts togather again.  :thumb:

Some updates...

Frame and rims are now painted. As you can se i finally decided to go for the white rims.  :icon_mrgreen: Frame was painted in silver. Also recived my windshield and clipons this weekend!  :thumb: So basiclly i´ll just have to paint the engine and start mounting things back together again. Still i have to modify the top fairing for the headlight assembly before i can start painting all the fairing parts. Also some fabrication of rear sets and instrumentation has to be made. But it´s gettings there!  O0

Nice project, Krusse! I gotta pipe in on this Bandit wheel business. The issue is that the center hub on the B4 wheel is offset - narrower on the sprocket side than the GS wheel. If you use the GS sprocket carrier in the B4 wheel you need a spacer to take up the 17/64" space left due to the offset.

I thought thats it ,a member of this board had it the same way as u did , until the bearing shattered ,

Well that didn´t sound to good. Are you sure that the spacer was the reason for the bearings to shatter? Did he put new bearings along with the change? Just find it hard to beleave that that small diameter diffrence of the spacer causes the bearings to break...  :dunno_white: but if that so i´ll be happy to know.  :thumb:

Aha, so you mean there´s an offset between the left bearing and the sprocket holder (inside the sprocket holder..)? Or do you meen between the sprocketholder and the swing?  :dunno_white: Beacuse there´s no offset between the sprocketholder and the swing. I used the GS sprocketholder, the stock spacers on both sides and instad i had to cut the rear caliper holder (can´t remember how much) to make it fit in the swing. After i done that the wheel centered in the swing. Maybe not "nano" precise centered, but i messured it to a maximum of som milimteres off..  :icon_rolleyes:

Well, maybe i have to do some seriuos messurements about this, i´ll let you know...

If you look at a bare GS500 wheel next to a bare Bandit 400 wheel the hub center is narrower on the Bandit wheel. You need something to take up that space on the axle - you don't want any side to side freeplay in your wheel. Also - check your sprocket alignment - the wheel being centered in the swingarm doesn't necessarily equate to your sprockets lining up when you're mixing parts from different bikes. You may be fine - but check it before final assembly to be sure your chain is running true!

Ok, after the rearwheel spacer diskussion i had to remount the rear wheel in the swing to find out if it was centered as i rembererd. And yes, the wheel is perfectly centered in the swing.  :thumb: and there´s no play in sideways or anything, perfect fit! I do have some pictures for proof . And as i said before i rode it like this for almost a month before i took the bike apart, so there´s no issue with chain clearence or anything like that, just added washers under the rear sprocket to be sure the chain didn´t touched the tire. This is a bandit 600 rim, is the other issues only with the bandit 400 rim maybe?

Well, didn´t got time to paint the engine this weekend, as i hoped. But hopefully next weekend or so. Stay tuned.

Cool.I did the B6 wheel also. Now I just gotta find time to paint everything and assemble it.So,I'm about where you are on that part.  :thumb:
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Hi,

Have really done some progress this weekend. Painted the motor and started to put things back together again. The only thing that needs paint now is the fairings. So now it´s mostly a lot of reassembly work to do!

Tell me what you think so far...
