Welcome and thank you for your service!

I have a DL650 with a bigger engine and unless I'm going more than 200 miles the 650 stays in the garage.
Love my GS500.  Been taking it to work all week.  The bike is a pisser in traffic.  Can split those lanes with surgical precison heading into that Lincoln Tunnel. :)

40 y-o guy from Bogota, Colombia, with a recent interest in bikes.  Lived in Wash DC for 5 years before coming back to my home country.  Finally got me a GS-500E about six weeks ago (only 500E's are sold in this country, no F's), a Silver 2005 with 6000+ miles on it (newbie here, didn't dare to buy new, besides, the waiting list for a new one can be frustrating  ).  The GS-500E has a large fanbase here and is one of the most "wanted" bikes due to it's great price-performance ratio.

Thanks GSTwin.com for such a great site and forum!

Hey.. I'm 24, brand new rider, and my GS500f is my first bike.  I'm out in Santa Barbara, CA so if there's anyone around here that wants to tool around with a brand new rider (and help her pick up her bike when she inevitably drops it), drpo me a line! :)
My first love is my Mustang, and hopefully riding my new toy will soon become my second love. ;)
We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom that is in it - and stop there; lest we be like the cat that sits down on a hot stove lid. She will never sit on a hot stove lid again - and that is well; but also she will never sit down on a cold one anymore. ~Mark Twain~

Yep.  There were some schedule snafus when I signed up, and had to do all the riding in one 100D day.  It was miserable!!  I wasn't sure if I was going to want to ride again after that.  I've been told that I'm automatically hotter now because I'm a " biker chick."  Have you experienced any of that? ;)

I don't think it's abt being "hotter" because your a woman riding a motorcycle, but that you want to and are able to drive a motorcycle - it does set you in a different category from most other women.

Yeah, I've already been put in that category for having a 5spd V8.  Now my V8 buddies are trying to convince me that being a biker chick adds a kick to that V8 hotness.  Yeah, I know, I sound like a total ditz/bimbo/idiot/whatever.  I was just wondering if their assumptions were true.
