Sorry, lol. I should have been more specific. I go to Penn State Harrisburg. I'm down for road trips, though. Me and a friend of mine are heading down to Bike Week in September.

Well, I suppose this is where you say hello.  So, Hello all.

I've had a GS 500F for about a year.  It slid out from under me and now, it's a little scuffed up.
With the help of YouTube and the rest of the internet, and hopefully any advice I can get here,
I'll be learning to fix plastic, and how to paint.

I'm in Newark, Ohio, and once I get it back into riding condition, it would be nice to meet some
other GS owners.

Howdy folks...   My name is Jason and I'm from Pennsylvania (just south of Pittsburgh).  Just picked up my GS500f yesterday.  It's a 2009, 980 miles, Black/grey model.  I just sold a DRZ400s and I'm loving how much more comfortable and easy to ride the GS is on the street (plus the fact that I can touch flat footed and move the bike around without getting off of it).

Howdy all,

I just bought my stock '09 GS500F about 2 weeks ago.  It's my first bike and first experience riding, so everything is pretty brand new to me.  I'm a 26 year old electrical engineer from Northern Ontario in Canada with a brand new addiction.  Took a motorcycle safety course to try it out (the college program lets you use their bikes) and ended up buying mine the day after the course ended.

Looking forward to chatting with you all; I have already learned a lot from some of the threads!

Hi Shanghaipete .... Photo needs to be stored on a photo server somewhere ... Like photobucket, imgur etc ... Or look up Adidasguy's storage site GS500.net ...

Then same as YouTube way ... BUT under emoticons is also a little 'mona Lisa' icon ... Use that one instead ..  :thumb:

ShanghaiPete

Thank you for the photo tip. I am just finding out how to use gs500 forum. I have never used a photo server site. Which is funny
because I am studying IT! Its just something Ive never done before. So you recommend the photo bucket photo server? I will try and fix that up this weekend and show you some photo of my gs500.

Any photo server should be ok... The GS500.net one is 'private' .. Set up by our member here Adidasguy .. And only for members of this gstwins site to use.  :thumb:

Steve from SW Michigan. 50 years old and ride a '95 GL1500A. Bought a '93 GS500E yesterday for my wife, as an upgrade from a Yamaha Exciter SR250. She hasn't ridden it yet but if she decides it doesn't fit her, I may keep it for a second bike. It's fun, light, intuitive and economical.

Old Mechanic

Gary from Williamsburg Va. 62 years old, started riding in 1973 on a Kawasaki 900 40 years ago. Picked up my 94 GS500E ( I think it's a 94, made in July 93, title says 94). 10482 miles, looks to have been garage kept since new. Rode it today after draining tank (tank's clean), trying to see if I can avoid carb cleaning. Drilled broken bolt out of shift lever and got it installed and tight. New front brake lever, bar ends and clutch lever coming in Tuesday.

I am a 57 year old teacher that enjoys his GS500F. I have other rides but this "Pocket Battleship" does a great job as a long distance ride and  an all around. My bike has 33,000+ miles and she shares my time with an AN400 Burgman and a Honda Spirit 1100. I ride solo most of the time and enjoy doing so. The posted photo is at a rest stop in West Virginia, on the final leg of my Iron Butt 25 States 50 National Parks tour. Most of it was accomplished on this baby.

I am originally from Puerto Rico, but I have lived in the mainland since 1984. That is, I have lived more than half of my life on the mainland. I am living near Richmond the capital of Virginia.
