Just as an example - I sold that bike with a nice 89 black body for $1700. In fact the guy paid me on tuesday, gave me till friday to finish it, was very polite and was really smart in buying what was right for him, and he was nice through the whole thing even when things went against him. Sorry I dont have pics of it fixed up right now ...

It was not in the same league as Dgyvers - that is a work of art, but it had a Kat FE and all my mods on the kat parts to fit it right. I needed a quick sale and maybe I could have squeezed another couple 100 out of it, but I am happy and so is he. Other than the Kat FE it was almost all stock, slip on pipe and jetting, coated tank and mismatched wheels (though we may swap to a matched set at a later date). Sorry I dont have better pics, but its the run of the mill Kat FE GS with 17K miles.
Cool.

good story, lol but what is your point in all of it? do you think its over priced or are you just comparing that to mine. iv got tons of extra parts from the other motor and the motor i have now runs flawless.

The Buddha

You can sell the extra motor separate too.

I dont want to give you or anyone else any conclusion. I am just tossing an example - just like someone posted Dgyver's. Draw your own, that's all.

Cool.

yea.. I think you are taking this the wrong way... We are just trying to help you.. You said you wanted a quick sale.
I work at a dealership and I can tell you first hand, "most" buyers dont care about the extras and the mods, they are just looking for a bike. they want to add their own touch, your mods may not be for everyone...And the people looking for GS500's are looking for a "cheap" bike. Its a GS500 no matter what you put in it or do to it.

Now... Again, Good luck w/ the sale  I hope that you get what you need out of it

im still working on the pictures, i have been busy doing a few things, powerbled the back brakes and changed the fluid, cutting some metal inserts for the openings on the side, under the seat and rewiring the led's. i still have to make the new brackets for the 636 taillight as its still ziptied on.

man i really hate you are having to lower your price so much. the problem is that stock bikes normally carry a higher resale, but you've got allot a what looks like good work for good reasons.

some of the modifications aren't easily undone, and would cost you more time / money to make stock, so of course that isn't an option anyway. :(

it's a great looking one-off. good luck with the sale.

$1700 is a steal! That bike not only looks great, but it's one of the few on here that I've been pulling my inspiration from on the forum. If I had the money, It'd been sold a long time ago.

I am freaking color blind, and have a screwed up sense of aesthetics ... but that thing looks like sheite ...
It reeks of the ... I crashed and forgot to fix it look as well as, the I am doing primer and I'm too lazy to complete painting it ... BTW second week of september up north and gas has dropped below the $3.50 mark ... and its been around since feb.
Its like this ...
Post it on CL with pics, and in 3 days or as it drops off the front page, you should get atleast 10 calls. If not, your $ is too high for the pics.
For 10 calls you should have 3 people come to see it, and 1 should buy it, if you get calls but no one comes to see, its something invisible in the bike that you're revealing to them ... like its motor is seized making it over $$$.
If they see it and dont buy it, its somehting that they are experiencing when seeing/riding it, like you have 2 qts low oil, or it is insanely hard to shift ... or it smokes like a chimney ... If it sits month after month ... somehting is off. No matter how new and fresh a $5 bill is, you'd never be able to sell it for $10. Even a dirty $10.
Cool.

um, its already on craigslist, has been since day one. as for the paint, its not primer, it was done flat black, what more can i do with it?

as for it sitting, iv been riding it while iv had it this whole time. starts up and goes everytime, no problems whatsoever. as for the crash part, it was laid down once and what did i need to fix on it? the exhaust has some road rash, big deal! it still works just as it did, if not better than what i bought it for.

maybe im just taking your post the wrong way, but youv got some serious hate towards this bike and i dont know why.

edit- it your referring to the stator cover thats missing in the picture, thats the way the motor came when i swapped it. it has since been replaced and painted, you can see its been replaced in the other picture. what else looks like its been crashed, im lost in your logic here?

Buddha, where the fu#k do you get off saying I smoke crack? For your information I smoke PCP and PCP alone, and I happen to like how his bike turns colors and winks at me when I look at the pictures.

I really like the ehaust.. and I like the fighter look a lot.. just personal preference I guess, Buddha.
