Thanks but no thanks. I love the fairings on my bike and that was exactly why I bought it.

BTW, the mirrors didn't work. They were too low down by the grips instead of up higher. No biggie I'm sending them back and getting fog lights :thumb:

I love the fairing too, but if you wanted a faired bike the Kawi 500 and SV650SF are much better options. Both bikes are designed around the faired look (not the naked bike with a slapped on fairing for effect), and the SV650SF looks absolutely awesome.

It's fairly obvious the fairing on the F model was a complete afterthought (much like most of what Suzuki did with this bike). It's built based on the GSXR (the headlight and front chin spoiler are nearly identical) but molded to fit on a bike made to be naked. Hence the reason it looks very sporty but the handlebars aren't as aggressive and the foot pegs have you sitting nearly upright. It's also the reason on a real faired bike the fairings are much thinner and more aerodynamic, where the GS500F fairings are aerodynamic but heavy and wide. The GS500 was made to be a naked bike/cafe racer/etc. Suzuki did fairings on a naked bike right with the SV650SF. The GS500 was a mistake. This coming from an owner who loves his GS500F. Nothing makes me more sad than realizing the truth that Suzuki literally took a naked bike, slapped a fairing on it, and ran the price tag up a G or better, and then looking at the SV650SF and realizing they actually went back and worked on the bike to make it into a sportsbike, rather than a cafe racer dressed up to look like one.

If you dislike the GS500 so much, sell it so you can be free of this "mistake" and go buy yourself a SV650s so you can be happy. Problem solved for you  :thumb:

I've ridden a SV650s and I'll take the naked GS500 over it any day.

Mister,

What is it that you like more about the GS over the SV?
