The OP and Higgins are from Canada - health care is "free" because it's paid for by insurance. All motorcycle insurance is substantially higher north of the border......

I have progressive insurance liability only and it's a whopping $91.00 a year. I have a few tickets and am 27 and married. Huge difference when you turn 25. Almost makes marriage worth it to get the insurance discount.

I'm 21, no accidents/tickets...my insurance (liability only) is a whopping $95/yr with progressive...don't get an r6, if you couldn't afford gs500 insurance, how in gods name are you gonna afford r6 insurance???

Also much more bike, and it doesn't seem like you've got a very good track record and can't be too experienced given your age...not trying to ding you, just want to get you thinking. I'm stickin with the gs for a good long while.

$17 a month. Liberty mutual. Full coverage with a few tix on record.

Of course I am 36, so I must be old.

I pay $22/month for full coverage and comp on my 04 GSF and my 05 XT225. And it goes down like every six months or so..

Very similar to what I have. I pay $29/month for full coverage on my '04 with Progressive also. $0 deductible and accessory coverage.

Edit: Just realized this could be read a different way... Is that $22/month each bike, or both together? I could understand it is probably not much more for another bike of similar value though...

$22 for both bikes together.
Started around $34 and has gone down slowly.
