i been thinking.... yep it hurt a bit! ...

Greased Lightning .... im familiar with the phrase as is most every english speaker on the planet i guess...

but ... how?

how would you apply a thin layer of grease to lightning?! .. and ... wouldnt it just burst into a very brief flame and a puff of oily smoke?! 

... further ...

is grease actually any benefit to the operation of lightning?? .. theres not exactly moving parts!! .. grease is great for reducing friction!! .. and friction produces heat ... however .. lightning seems to produce heat AND light .. without direct friction to itself! .. sure the 'friction' of air masses and positive/negative electrostatic? buildup PRODUCES lightning ... but the item itself .. i cant think of how heat producing friction would occur.... thereby negating the need for grease!!?

its a puzzler!!! ... any smart university types care to have a crack at this problem?

Speaking of grease... The grease on my caliper axles is more like blue tack... Think I found my brake drag problem! Shoulda used cream...
