Its a good bike my cousin has one. Ive ridden it a few times and it maked me feel all squidly....I rode it once in the rain and that back wheel spun like mad. It has pretty good power and I think its a good bike overall.

nick_villan

what class does this bike compete in, to go c it at the track on day? yo is it like our bikes or is it more like a croatch rocket

the zzr600 is the old carbed zx6r that they kept making and selling it under a new name.  my friend has an 02 zx6r and it is mechanically the same bike i believe.

Hi Nicky!

I'm glad that a thread about a Kawasaki is still in the GS-related discussion.

Pfff, not even. The SV is the best bike in the world EVER. So no, the Kawi has nothing on it.

Wink.

What has a nice engine, the ZZR? You lost me when you said "and I hate the SV just as much."

SV650, by the way.

i think that the sv has a nicer engine because it runs a low 1/4 mile so it must have an exelletn power to wait ratio. hey anay way side to side which one do u think has a better power to weight ratio?

Rather than speculating, go to the manufacturers' sites and find the wet weights for each bike, the HP of each, and find the exact ratios yourself. Then you'll know for sure.

This is all I could find in the short time I had:

2005 SV650S: HP=72, DRY weight=372. Power-to-weight ratio=0.193548

200X (I wasn't sure what year they were talking about) ZZR600: HP=89, dry weight=377. Power-to-weight ratio=0.236074

I'm not even sure if I did that right. But there you go.

Uhhh Dave, I think you did research and/or math wrong or don't know that power to weight ratio is measured in lbs/HP. The last gen of the ZZRs made 98HP and weighed 430 lbs dry. The new ones weigh 377lbs and have 110HP, so the power to weight ratio would be 4.3878 and 3.4273 respectively.

The SV's is 5.1667 and the GS's is 9.0168.

I think you have it backwards alpha... power to weight ratio should be 1 when there is as much HP as it weighs, and less than one as power decreases / weight increases.  Higher the power weight ratio, the faster the bike.  If the GS was a p/w ratio of ~9 then this is an ungodly fast bike

so the p/w ratio of the GS should be 0.1109

Well, blame the stupid motorcycle magazine that tested the ZX-10R and claimed it as having the best power to weight ratio of any motorcycle out there, and stating it as a 1.4 something, I think.
