Actually, now that you mention it, I am a tank leaner. It's just so darned comfy to lay on the tank and cruise. Perhaps that's why my wrists only bother me when I'm on loooong hauls! 

If you take the bar ends off and shove in bits of glue sticks for a hot glue gun untill the clipon bar is full that will help a little.  That is if it came with bar ends.

See - leave it to the GS crew to come up with something that off the wall.  I've promised myself no mods whatsoever for 600 miles, but I'll see it this would work 

It did wonders in my handlebars before I installed clipons.  Now I need to get new bar ends and I will probably do the same thing again. Let me know if you do it and it helps even a ilttle in clipons.
