Thought I'd put the 1st post on this forum here.

I ride around the San Francisco Bay Area, did my 1st Doc Wong ride with Scratch in Group 2. Cornering Confidence I think. I remarked that I like the purple color on the bike. If mine came stock like that, I'd probably keep it. I mostly hang around SBR. Anyway, I'll get to my posts.... I wonder if people actually look at this thread.

Good day folks. Just because I don't ride a modern, cool, sharp tailed, blade like, full-fairing bike... means nothing... though if I could afford for both worlds...
But modest and naked bikes have character.

edit: sorry, I tend to edit.

Yep.People do read this stuff.Helps us to find new ridein friends.I'm in South Carolina.

Hello, Im new here (2nd day) I just bought a 90 GS500 for my first bike and Im really looking forward to getting my liscence

Steve here , 27, from Cerritos, CA.  Finally, finally got another bike...my last was over 6 years ago, a 1997 Kawasaki Ninja 250 (first bike).  Wanted a decent bike to save on gas...the Vette costs about $60 a week now to fill up which is just crazy!  Did some research online as to what bike to get.  I didn't need all the power, that's what the Vette is for!  So it was this or the Kawasaki 500 (which my uncle has).  Looks of the GS grabbed my attention for sure.  And, well this board kinda helped out too because I searched all over to see what people thought about both bikes.  I read about how unbelievably reliable the bike is, how much fun people had on them.  True that the Ninja had a little more horsepower, but, it was only a little and like I said, I wasn't in it for tons and tons of power to begin with or I would have went 600 or bigger.  I want to ride though...not kill myself!!!

And what's great about this board is the help and knowledge!  As we all know...getting aftermarket stuff is a journey in itself just to find anything!  But I've found it helpful to see who suggests what bars, who likes what exhaust and what to even do for the exhaust.  Little tips and tricks posts.

So anyway...I'm glad I jumped aboard!  From the looks of it, this bike is gonna be fun to ride and is going to last for quite some time!

I'm Ben, 19 and live in Plymouth down the sunny side of the UK  :icon_mrgreen:. Passed my test a few months ago now and bought meself a 99 GS500 for my first bigger bike. Deffinitely glad with my choice! Still would like a VFR400 at some point though, shame they're so expensive! Used to ride a Honda CBR125, nice bike, just no poke at all to it. I work on the railways as an apprentice, on the electrical side. Really enjoying it, couldnt ask for more. Except for more money to spend on bike bits and petrol! Already found this forum to be a wealth of info, sorted out my fuel lines properly already! If anyone is ever down this way, I'll show you possibly the best road ever! To me at least.
