Rode to school just fine; parked for 8 hours, and started to ride home. Front end was wobbling low speed. Turn in was very different (like a whole different bike) and it resists when trying to countersteer to the point where i was riding home well under 50. It seemed a bit better at speed.... but my question is, what could have changed between this morning and the ride home?


If someone has done anything malicious, i can only think of maybe letting air out of tire, messing with fork compression/rebound. It's a highly trafficked area where I park, but i'm not going to be riding this bike because it feel far too different...and potentially dangerous. I haven't hit any potholes or done anything obvious to effect the wheel.


This weekend I'll be:
checking my tire pressures
taking the front wheel to shop to check for balance
make sure the forks are set even


any other ideas? Steering Stem Bearings were brand new as of april this year.

a big fat NAIL in my rear tire. I don't know if i picked it up on the way to school, or if it was some act of boredom by someone.

BRAND EFFING NEW TIRE this year...

don't think i want to plug it so looking to new rear. Keep same or spring for something better than shinko?

Put a tyoooooob in it and dont run high speeds for sustained periods ... like 90+ on 90 degree days = bad. WTF, you're in tundra ... you're fine.

Man, that sucks.  Sorry to hear of your misfortune. 

I would just plug it, especially if its a new tire!.  my front has a plug in the very center of the tire, and it is doing fine.  including numerous trips to 102mph at roebling road racetrack.  it all depends on where in the tire the nail punctured it

Jeremy,  you go to Roebling!  I want to go watch, get a feel for what goes on there.  Since they don't allow spectators, maybe I could be your pit-monkey/water-boy!

they dont allow spectators? why not? is that true for most tracks?

Since its a Shinko, the sticky rope plug would probably be the strongest part of the whole tire if you plugged it.  LOL  I do feel for ya getting a nail in a new sneaker.

yeah, I went a few weeks ago, it was my first track day and I had a blast, until my buddy found the limits of his sv650 coming out of turn 9.  I plan on doing more track days next season.  and no, they dont allow spectators, but surely a 15 person support team would be fine  lol
