awesome; doing something similar but with an 01 wheel with 5mm spacers on the calipers. what you do about the steering stops/ignition lock? do the stock clipons hit the tank/frame?
I will need to fab steering stops.  I am not too worried about the ignition lock.  The stock clipons are very close to the tank.

Glad to see everything worked out for you, buddy.

The bike looks steller!

Good job.

Thanks to you for the stem drawings!  :thumb:

Just read every page of this and I am in love!  Fantastic job on everything and a lot of ideas have been provided to me for my bike.

So I'm looking at doing a similar approach on my bike... Building a custom seat frame and such and the first dilemma I have found is where to mount the battery tray. I want to chop my tail very similar to yours and the only thing i could think of is possibly to weld in a plate right above the shock. Where did you put yours? Thanks in advance

X2, this is an amazing build.  I have the Monster seat/cowl, sides on the way.  Guess I need a welder, lol.

Have read this thread a hundred times, love the work!

What stripper and what paint did you use for the wheels?

cosmiccharlie

I wish I had some updates to post, but sadly I do not.

I used a brush on paint stripper found at my local home depot.  I don't remember the brand.  The wheels were painted with Duplicolor Universal Gold engine paint.

Did we run out of funds or time  :icon_lol:, been secretly watching this build and O.C.D.'s and can't wait to see final pictures and maybe video?

Keep up the great work.

your chain in blinging!  gold,  just no grease on it yet?
:thumb: It has been lubed.  I need to do it again though.

Charlie what chain is that?  I have found a DID one, is it this one?

PO told me it was a RK chain.  I'll probably replace it before I put the bike on the road.

Good timing bumping my thread.  I was just about to get on here and post.

Well you guys probably won't believe it until I post some pics, but I am FINALLY getting a rear tire installed tomorrow.  So the bike will once again be a roller.

I've been thinking of spicing the color scheme up a bit.  Take a look a the these two photochops I did.  Just a quick respray on the tank and maybe the subframe, add a number decal to the seat cowl and call it done.  I don't want to start taking things apart to paint again.  Any suggestions?

cosmiccharlie

Ohh and I am ditching the monster exhaust and having one built like you see in the above photochop.

O.C.D.

I think it is this chain: http://www.bikebandit.com/rk-520-kz6-heavy-duty-race-chain

Why you ditching it?  Old or is it the color?

I like the graphics idea.  What does the "7" symbolize?  Exhaust will look great too!

My tires should be here in a few minutes so I too can be a roller.  Wish we were closer to compare builds.  They both look alike but are so different.

I am ditching the exhaust because it looks to big and heavy to me now.

The 7 doesn't represent anything.  Just a number I threw on there.  I am still undecided about doing something like that.

badguy

Not sure how I haven't commented here yet, but this is looking great

I like the sliver subframe better...seems like it'll give some contrast under the tail section.

the first picture with the silver sub frame is definitely the route to go.

*I*, personally, do Not like the number. But if You like it, knock yourself out.  :thumb:

I'd like to see this bike finally finished.

Glad you decided to ditch the exhaust. That thing looked like a ten ton weight to help with wheelies.
