I ride with  a friend who usually has the tinted visor on and he keeps a pair of safety glasses with him in case he gets caught out after dark.  I do the opposite, clear visor with sunglasses, either works.  If you have the storage space on the bike you could carry a spare visor.

Everyone should have a pair of safety specs under the seat in case something happens to your visor, be it a scratch, stone chip, oil film (thank the 2 strokers on group rides for that) or whatever.  The only issues I've found with safety glasses are that the cheap ones are often not optically correct, which you may find a little disorienting, and they are particularly prone to fogging on cold nights.  I guess you could put an anti fog coating on them, I've been spoilt with pretreated visors so I've never had an issue with fogging before.

Silly or not, I almost always wear sunglasses with a full face helmet. Here in WA it is illegal to not have eye protection. So if you are in town, riding with your visor up, and you do not have glasses or other eye protection, they can stop you. For me however I wear them mostly because I wear contacts and the wrap around sunglasses help to keep my eyes from getting dried out due to the wind. Even with my visor down the wind that comes from the chin of my helmet irritates my eyes. When I rode to California I wore clear protective glasses in the early morning and night for the same reason.

+1 I always wear my Oakley half jackets I've got night lenses too. It got rid of the headaches I'd get at night. My eyes get soo dried out without them on. I even managed to scratch my cornea with road debris and my visor down so I add all I can. A scratched cornes is  :bs: to deal with I had to take an IQ test right after it happened for VR I scored at slightly retarded LOL. when other times I was a 139 amazing how dumb you become when you can't see straight!

I used to wear sunglasses. Now I just wear my Scorpion  EXO 1000 FF helmet with clear visor & flip down sunshades.

Cutting them is a good idea, although my prescription always changes slightly so my old glasses are never the same as my new ones. My last pair of glasses were plastic framed and they were a nightmare for a helmet. Wire frames are definitely the way to go. I made sure to check every pair I looked at to see how flexible the arms were too. some of the metal ones are just as wide and stiff as the plastic ones. Those are the same kind of magnetic sunglasses I have too. I'm sure they work with visors from some helmets, but they're just awful to use with a clear Arai visor. Everything looks weird. Not sure how to describe it. You can see patterns in the back of car windows, the sky turns purple instead of blue, and every single crack or tar strip on the road is illuminated. It just started to give me a headache.

Those patterns, sky colors, odd reflections are due to polarized lenses. Yeah, that can Oimess with your head.

In Australia the visor has to meet the Australian standards. No Australian standard label on it and its illegal, it means some styles of tinted visors are legal and some aren't.
Having said that, if the sun is rising I wear sunglasses and my tinted visor. Come night time, I've a pair of clear safety glasses under my seat I grab and wear so I can ride with my visor up. That's how I get around the problem. I find the biggest problem with wearing glasses under a visor is fogging up on cold mornings. I do wear a fogg off mask now but if I don't get it right it still fogs my glasses up (just not my visor) so I prefer just to wear the mask and the tinted visor.

My new helmet came with a breathe deflector. It has padded foam on the back and actually presses against my nose. I'm curious to try it out, although if it's that cold I usually don't go out so who knows if I'll ever get to use it.

I wear aviators with my AGV XR2.  Works perfectly fine.  I could get a tinted visor, but I typically go places during the day and it's night when I leave, so sunglasses and clear tends to be more convenient.
Good day to you!

I don't know what colour the inner lense is, though mine also came with an extra orange/yellow replacement, but unfortunately my dog ate it  :icon_sad:

i have tinted sport googles that i use to play basketball with.

My normal glasses are a frameless design with really thin lines. I can never slide them into my helmet on the first try. I feel them always bending and then they dont fit nicely.

Somebody suggested that you keep your glasses on and go into your helmet facefirst. Then start angling toward the front opening. It works! I tried it and had no problems at all. Doesn't work in reverse, though, but taking them off is never a problem. Putting them on is what bites. It might work for you, too.
