"The reason that it is for sale is because I opened up the top end to adjust the valves and realized that on this bike, I just don't have the finesse to perform this job. I will include the dial micrometer and all the necessary feeler gauges to finish the job however."
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!"  ~Hunter S. Thompson

Interesting that you would get this far and then give up.  Unless something went horribly wrong and he things he did it in somehow.

1982 GS1100 $1950

WOW!  :icon_eek:

that is one friggin NICE bike! (in my eyes :P )

never one for older bikes as too many cruisers are quite ugly and too V shaped.
or the seat is just flat and straight back.

also "Most" but not all just dont look right without a V twin.

Dunno, that sucker pulls it All off in my eyes!

even the handlebars as im mostly only a fan of drag bars too!

if I had the $, I'd be jumpin all over that if it was local.

This gets my goat. Aren't the two statements contradictory? And it is over priced.

They aren't designed for looks.  Have you ever ridden one?

gsatterw

MSF course. Hated it. Made my nuts hurt. I bet they would be pretty kickass on a trail tho.

whoops!

Got 2 of them, an '07 and a '96.  Decent trail bikes, not bad around town either.  They lack power on the highway though, tops out around 65mph.  The Yamaha XT225 is more capable off road and has a little more top end.

It's going to be one of those two eventually for my wife's beginner bike.

This guy's trying to get rid of his quick. I noticed he posted a few times already:
