Received my new fork brace and brought home some cardboard so I can make some templates for making a new tail fairing set because the stock plastics look disproportionate in relation to the wheel.

jestercinti

Installed my new chain and 17t sprocket.

The only problem now is that the clip-type master link is crap. Need a rivet style. Feel better about rivet style anyway.

Put new blinkers on my 89! I like em, only 18 bucks.

I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

Eh Jacob .... Like those blinkers!! .. Not so sure on the fender replacement though eh!! Looks like it would get soggy! Lmao..  ;)

However.. For all that read in here ..
in a long running dispute with my lighting system ... I believe I may have resolved a "my stupid fault" issue with my low beam ... Some of you might remember the situ but it don't matter if not...

Without revisiting the whole saga .. The last thing I did previously was to replace the left control switch plug under the fuel tank... 11 wires and both sides of plug so 22 fiddly wire cut/strip/crimps ( for my truck driver sized hands anyway) .. Did a quick test and bolted it all back together... Soon as the engine heated up on next ride the damn light went out... So I went     and swore off fixing bits for quite a while...

This arvo I started to get the bike and front fork bits ready for the mechanic tmw... Yeah I'm still doing the forks by workshop man... I don't have the tools or proper workspace to do it ... Anyway I had the bike running to warm it a little and stir up the oil (it has sat for over a month) .. The light started flickering again and I had a moment of  :technical: ... So undid the tank and grabbed the meter to resolve the farken headlight once and for all ... Still took me awhile ....

 ... You know .... When you strip and crimp 22 connectors ...  There is always bound to be a minor mistake somewhere....  .. Mine was .. The connector for the low beam wire ... One side of the plug was fine .. The other side I crimped down on the insulator plastic .. With maybe 3 strands of wire touching the connector metal ... But when the engine heat came up .. The strands moved a little and gave weak intermittent contact...  :technical: ... Farken insulator plastic!!! ... Anyway .. Now it's all solid and working and back together..

I'm not gonna claim the war!!! ... Just this battle for now!!  :woohoo:

Put a new chain and sprockets on today. Went with an EK chain and JT with a 15/39 combo. Feels pretty good. I definitely notice better pulling throughout the gears.

Gave them a bath. Weather is getting better.

A noob in West Seattle is buying a Ninja 250 and needed a place to park it. So I'm going to let him rent parking at the Bike Cave for a dollar a day. He will only be an associate member if the West Seattle GS500 Club since he doesn't have a GS500.

Gave them the afternoon off and went to pick up a car load of GS500 parts. Fugley fairing - someone black & green MONSTERed it. At least it had a headlight, right mirror and the tail plastics were not cracked - just fugleyed. Seems that questionable one I found on CL was quite legit. He also posted on ebay so I checked him out. Motor, gauges, wheels, levers, brakes, and a box of all kinds of stuff.

Now to jump on Suzi and go to the gym.

Put them on Suzi. That's at least a 5hp gain painted up like that!

I don't know if I can handle that much power. She already has 6 added HP from the SS chain guard and airbrush's rear hugger. What would I do with more HP other than get myself into trouble riding like a squid?

Oh I'm sure u wear all your gear addy so that just make you a hooligan
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.
