new rear tyre fitted today ..... hopefully i've got the rear wheel back on correctly  ;) whilst at the shop waiting for my wheel back, I questioned the service bloke about a replacement controller for my oxford heated grips, they didn't have one so he rang their supplier who said they'd replace them under warranty, even though I have no idea how old the grips are...... so shot home took the old grips off and took them back to the shop, walked out with a brand new set, which i've just finished installing on my bike...... stoked ..... score  :)
SCORE

Changed oil after leaving defective petcock on prime. Waiting for a kid-free weekend and/or evening bro time to fix needles and replace fuel lines and install new petcock.

It's great to hear of a company that backs their product like that.  I've got a set and I love them.  I don't think I'll ever own another street bike that doesn't get a set, that's how much I like them.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Same here. I love mine and had no idea how much they'd help until I put them on, on a chilly day they can make your entire body feel warmer. Rode ~400 miles through a 10-15 degree snowstorm over spring break the day after I put them on with nothing on my hands but my thick winter gloves and the grips - my hands got a bit chilly, but it was great compared to how it used to go.

Rode to the theatre to see the new Iron Man 3 movie. Wanted to bring the bike in but they said no, even after I promised she wouldn't drip and would sit quietly through the whole movie.  :cookoo:

Awesome movie by the way!

Took the Plexi 2 off and put the Spitfire on so it's officially summer now in my 2 season summer/winter world.  Been doing the twice a year windshield switch since 02.  The big Plexi 2 can be a handful at higher speeds on windy days and the wind in the face feel of the smaller shield makes me feel more like a real biker.  :icon_lol:  But the big Plexi is hard to beat in the winter here in NE Ohio.

Spent a couple hours trying to get the Spitfire lower since I'm 3" shorter now than I was when I first put it on 10 years ago.  Not an easy task with my GenMar risers and my modified 4 point mount for the Spitfire.  Think I'll just get a new Spitfire with the standard 2 point mount if I'm putting it on again next year, much easier to reset height.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Put a set of Euro clip-ons on de-lectronic 's bike.
His old bars were too low and a little bent.

Flick has lots of goodies coming up he's got new heel guards  Adidas guy, a V&H exhaust (be here Friday), and need to put that master cylinder on. Now that school is out I can't wait to ride tomorrow I'm super duper stoked!

Next time he stops over. He bought the gel seat from me a few weeks ago. I rebuilt the forks before he bought it from someone else. Long story. Complicated with lots of trades, cheap prices for parts and good beers.
Amazing what you can ride away with if you bring good local beers to the bike cave.

Just dropped the bike off for it's first service, pick it up tomorrow.

Added an R1 muffler. Looks and sounds great. Had to custom fab the stock pipe a bit( just a couple bends). But all in all a great finished product!

Ugh! That could've been ugly...

I cranked my pre-load on the Ikons up one notch yesterday... so far so good but the traffic was crawling over the bumps on the commute that get her a little bouncy today so couldn't really tell...

I started her up.

After over 3 months of not being used, being rained on, covered in snow and generally ignored.. She started 3rd press of the button. (All i did was charge the battery) Words cannot describe this happiness!!! :D

New rear tyre and MoT soon, then the fun begins

Fixed the oil leak (hopefully). I was obviously a little tardy when I did my last oil change and there was a bit of crap under the oil filter cover. Much as its bad practice and I curse others for doing it, I used a bit of silicone sealant on the o ring for good measure. Its getting colder here and the bike battled to start followed by a HUGE backfire (neighbours looking out the windows stuff) the other day, so looks like a valve clearance check is in my near future.

Reinstalled the gauge cluster, modified indicator light harness + LEDs. Will post pics in BEEST's build thread.

I got my rims back with new rubber on them.  I did my valve clearance maintenance, and opened everything up just a lil' bit.  Exhaust valves were both on the low side of spec, and the intakes were below spec [<.04 mm, my thinnest blade].  Now everything is floating between .04 and .08 mm.  I would have like my exhausts to be a little looser, but I screwed up my shim order a little and NO ONE around me has Suzuki shims, not even my nearest dealer.

I fired it up with the tank off and it seemed to run nicely, although blipping the throttle at all makes it stumble.  I'm going to sync the carbs tonight, button up the rear wheel, and ride this weekend!!
