My name is Stephen.  I am 24 years old.  I live in Waco, Texas.  Own a 2000 GS500 and a 1995 RM 250 dirtbike.  Been a huge Suzuki fan most of my life.  No I am not a Branch Davidian or a follower of David Koresh.  All that crap went down 45 minutes from where I live.  I am in the process of fixing up the 2000 GS because I aquired it wrecked and have been working on it for the last month.  I am at the point now where the bike is totally back together and all body parts are currently in the body shop getting painted.  BTW if anyone knows a place I could post pics on the net I would like to share some pics of the bike.

Hi I'm Becky 29 currently residing in Tampa, FL.  I'm a systems administrator and I am currently going to school to get my MBA.  I have been riding my 2001 gs500 for about two months, and this site has been really great to learn about riding, equipment and mechanics.  My GS is currently in the shop because after changing exhaust and rejetting I could not get it right.  I enjoy riding and would love to meet some others in the area that do also.  Thanx for your help so far.

Cheers!

My name is Tim and I'm a 20 year old (21 in a little over a month) guy going to school at UW Madison in Electrical Engineering. I bought a 93 with 6000 miles last month and got my motorcycle endorsement last weekend. I'm near Saint Paul, MN for the summer though. Working, waterskiing and riding. Two positives, one not-so-positive.

Shadley

My name is Shad.  I'm a plant manager for an egg packaging company in southwest Missouri.  I've wanted a bike for a while now, but my ex wife told me if I got a bike a should go ahead and file for a divorce, because she wasn't going to watch me kill myself.  I got divorced in April and now I have my bike.  It's a 96 GS500E.

Great story Shadley!  Screw the wife!   :)  .My name's Brian, I'm 35 and I'm production manager for a company that makes acoustical wall and ceiling panels.  I have a '96 GS and am lovin' every minute of driving it.   Here's my baby:  http://members.shaw.ca/briboles/bike3.jpg

cajrovd

DJ here - fortunately my wife is cool with me getting a bike, whew!

Just picked it up a couple of days ago, first bike - 2004 GS500F. Lovin it. Got my learners permit, doing the msf class soon, then onto the actual M license.

Looking forward to commuting to work (Art Director/Web Manager for design agency in Burbank, CA). Live 50 miles away in Rancho Cucamonga, scarily, a common commute distance for many over here but that's an entirely different story. No doubt I'll have lotsa interesting commuting tales to tell especially once i'm brave enough to lane-split.

Hey all! Awsome site! :thumb:
My name is Jake and I've lived Alaska for about  seven years and I'm planning to get back down to the fourty-eight and some highway and interstate travel for a change, because we got two roads up here, North+South :? , Kinda limiting if you know what i mean.
Anyway, I'm an electrician, about 1 1/2 YEARS FROM TESTING JOURNEYMAN, working as barista for a break right now (wow are there some hot women up here when the sun comes out :) (most of the summer(we're at about 20 or so hours a day :P  ))),  ;) sure can make for some long rides.
I got my 99GS500E about a month ago been riding with some friends and my brother((Rides SV650)bros in Prudehoe Bay(TOP-O-THE-WORLD) working IBEW right now :( No one really to ride with) Got my MSF  :thumb: and have put on almost 1000 already(man that bike is so cool).
I'v done some cosmetics, tail fender (getting pics together), painted my brakes(took awhile but got it done, looks good) and DIY timming adv. I want to do jetting and exhaust and air, forks, swingarm and tail mod, then I'll prolly be good for a while. Just trying to get a little bit more out of her(I know she can).
Good to meet you all, maybe we can get together when I get down there :thumb:   Thanks all.

Modesto ... I lived in Merced for a year or so... 2001 and 02... Love Modesto, but the high cost and lack ok jobs in IT sorta was a downer...
And Cajrovd.... you are going to end up with 10 bikes... like me. For a 50 mile 1 way commute, you must have a different bike everyday of the week. Just IMHO... I had 10, 4-8 of them were working at any given time, and I nearly managed to get out of every one of them before they managed to blow up big. Except the 89 GS. My motto... buy very very low miles, and 83-95 was my target years, and sell before 20K. 2-3 years per bike and sell it. Anyway excellent bike for lane splitting.
Cool.

I get the old man award.... 51 yr old in VT.
You can't always be young, but you can always be immature. that's my motto
Its not my gs500.... I was leading a friend on my favorite local road when he disappeared from the rearview mirror.
He hit gravel on the side of the road and low-sided into guard rails.  :x
He walked away with a few scrapes and bruises (blue jeans not proper riding gear)  :nono:
The bike however got really hurt: both fork tubes, headlight, handlbars, instruments all got wacked.
He was new to the bike and I feel really bad that he was trying to keep up with me on a road I was very familiar with.  I should have told him to ride his own pace, but he seemed like he was doing fine until he went wide in a turn and hit that gravel.
So with the help of all you folks on this board I am helping him put his "new" bike back together. I found this board looking for help with the GS and found some genuinely nice folks

Oh yeah?  I guess you haven't met gsJack yet.  He's been MARRIED a little longer than you've  been alive!

Check out  the happy couple.  <-- You may need to click on the link twice; preceding photos tend to goof up the positioning.

(Just giving you a hard time.  To help you feel welcome, of course!  ;) )

Iriebiker

Iriebiker (Candace): Just got my 2nd first bike last month, a '99 GS500E. It's great being on a bike again!!! Used to ride about 20 years ago when stationed in Las Vegas with USAF. Later, in my bike-less years, I eventually graduated from Iowa State and started a career in a professional I didn't really like, but got to live in lots of cool places. Now this career-changer has an ultra cool job as a biologist with the National Park Service in Florida. I commute to work on the GS, afternoon thunderstorms permitting. My boyfriend used to ride, and now that I've got a bike, he's getting the itch. He says the GS is too sporty for him, but at least I'll have someone to ride with me. :thumb:
You only have two options, having fun or freaking out, and that's what it's all about.

Freeze05

Hi, this is Barbara from Philly.  I've been riding for 15 years, and the '99 GS I  got a few weeks ago is my favorite bike so far.  I'm an administrator in Genetics at a university here, and commuting on this bike is sweet!
