This is my first post, My name is Agustin and I live in Los Angeles, Ca.  I recently purchased a 1990 GS500 for commuting and the occasional canyon run.
That blue "Yah-me" looks like some pretty serious stuff.
Very Nice!

Thanks Electrojake, the blue one is alot of fun but not friendly to my back after a full day of riding.

Hi All,

I've been lurking for a while so its about time it introduced myself.

I'm Conor, living in Silver Spring, MD. I've been wanting to get into riding for a while so I took the MSF class in December, and bought an 05 GS last month. I'm mainly interested in in biking for weekend rides and the occasional commute. Due to weather/work conflicts that hasn't happened yet but hopefully I can start riding in a couple of weeks.

This board has been a great source of knowledge for me so far, so thanks to everyone who contributes to the community here.

Welcome aboard quinientos!
Yes Sir, there's lots of good info on the GS500 here.
I'm rather new at this too. The crew here has given me lots of help over the last several months.

If possible, post a picture of your bike.
And glad to see you took the MSF class. It's a great way to get started! :thumb:

And you posted a pic right away!  You'll fit right in.

excellent thats what i like to hear. is that a single seat you have on yours?? i hate the seat on the gs. its freaking huge and looks like a snowmobile seat haha
thats what she said.

Paulcet

Yeah the seat is freekin' huge, but that means it's comfortable.  The rear part of mine is covered with blue marine-grade vinyl, so it looks a little like a solo seat.  The color doesn't match perfectly (it would be damn near impossible), but it works.

Hey everyone,
I've been using the forum and wiki for a few months now so I thought I'd go ahead and register and introduce myself :p.
I'm 21, currently residing in Colorado Springs, and attending the University of Colorado. I rode a KX a lot as a kid, but this is my first bike for street use and I've been extremely happy with my decision!

How's it going?
I am Justin a 24 year old Texan stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, Middle of No-Where Missouri. Bought my first street bike bout a month ago, 2006 GS500f. Excited about my first street bike, little dissapointed in the lack of aftermarket on the internet. Does anyone have any extra rear reflectors or know where I could get some on the cheap? Last owner removed them I ride at night and want them on there.

Hey All - here's my intro post!

I picked up this 2000 GS500 a few weeks ago here in Portland OR. I'm still figuring out what's stock and not but so far I know it has a Dynajet stage 3 kit, bars, mirrors, blinkers, case savers (well used) and obviously the headlights. There are ammo-can style panniers that go on those rear racks. I have a Katana 600 rear shock and progressive front springs to go on ASAP. I've only ridden her a few times due to the rain but she feels so light and low (last bike was a V-Strom 1000). Here's the mandatory pic:

Hey, My name is Wil & I'm from San Francisco.  Proud owner of this '92

Runs well enough but previous owners have let it fall out of shape.  First bike so I'm starting small & working my way up

So far:

- removed the blue balls from the plate, seriously WTF??
- swapped out the stock mirrors for convex SV650's
- replaced rear brakes
- begun removing rust

Many more aspirations to come...
VROOM VROOM!!!

Lifeforce99

Well, seeing as all I've been doing is asking questions I guess I should introduce myself :D

I have an '08 GS500F in that lovely metallic blue and its awesome, 'cept its not working right now...

birdhandler

Hi everyone I am David Falconer  AKA birdhandler (get it??)

I live in Auckland New Zealand and I am a 50 year old  returning biker having oweed at Kawasaki GT750 shaft drive years ago
I have a 1990 in original in roughish condition which i commute and do weekend rides with  and am slowly attempting to restore a 2005 F model which has done 6910 miles before being crashed

I like the GS500 because of its simplicity and because its been around for so long and has proved its worth

You guys are very knowledgable and helpful

Thanks
