Hi all, I'm Aleks - from near London, England.
Got my '97 GS500e a coulpe of months ago.  It's my second bike actually (after my '98 Yamaha SR125 died completely December last year) - and I'm loving every moment of it.  I do about 65 miles daily to/from work alone, some times more.

Mike From Enfield, NH...just bought a 97 GS500E. I had a bought a GS500 back in 1994 brand new, my first bike....sold it about four years after that....came across the 97 on Craigs list and realized how much I missed the GS...

My name is Asia, I'm from Connecticut. I just brought home my 09 GS500F and my brother attempted to help me learn to ride it tonight. I don't even know how to drive a manual, so the learning session went pretty horribly and I spent about an hour stalling it over and over again.  I got it going three times and 2 of those times I panicked and it stalled out and I dumped it.  It was totally not how I was expecting the first time to go at all, but I have faith it will click for me and I will be cruising around in no time. It's just so hard to not get frustrated!

So, that's my introduction, go me! Lol.  :woohoo:

Welcome!  And hang in there, you'll get it.  But to get it even better, get into a MSF basic rider course.  I hear it's not good to let family teach you how to ride.

Thanks! I'm already scheduled for a course, but it doesn't start until August. I'm thankful that I have my brother to help me out with the basics first, because I'd be so embarrassed if I rode at the course like I did today lol.

Hi,

I'm Jess. I've returned to biking after a ten year break and have been riding since 1987. I'm about to buy a GS500F after hearing how reliable and maneuverable they are. I'm 42 years old and live in Sydney Australia.

Hi, I'm Gareth in Portland, Oregon.
Just got an '89 a few weeks and 500 miles ago, but it's currently in the shop getting a new head. It's my second bike to an RD400, but it's the bike that got me through the Oregon skills test.

Hi, I'm Jerry from Clifton Park, NY. I just bought my 1st motorcycle, a 09 GS500f as I turned 57. Other than the cold starts, I love the bike and riding. I should have done it a long time ago.

Hi, I'm Joris from Toronto, 46 years old and I've recently started riding again after a long hiatus. Used to ride in my native country (Netherlands) when I was in my 20's but fortunately it really was just like riding a bike when I started again last week.
I have a 2006 GS500F and I really enjoy the bike. Previous owner lowered the bike so I had to bring it back to original height again but now that this has been taken care of it's perfect.
Doing my own maintenance so I'm sure I'll be using the forum for tips.

Cheers ...

Im Jay 28, from Louisville, KY. Ive had my 09 GS500F for a little over a year now. Great bike! Its currently in the shop for paint. Frame/rims matte red, and fairings/everything else, matte black. Should have it back and put together this weekend and if I can figure out how to upload pics onto here I will post some. Site is great! lots of good info! My fiance and I just recently had a baby boy, Bryce Chrestian C. and if it wasnt from him Id be modding the crap out of my GSF. One thing I do want to do is integrate my turn signals into the tail light. Anyone have any ideas on good options?
