Hey my name is Matt, I'm from Morris County, NJ.

I just started riding this year so I'm a noob.  I've been quite the car buff for sometime now, and have always been a bit embarassed knowing so much about cars and nothing about motorcycles.  So I figured I'd give it a go and went out and bought a '05 GS500F.

I'm a big fan of forums and find there's so much information to be gained by hanging around one.  I've spent the past few days reading looking around and I must say I'm impressed with the community you have here.

Oh, and don't worry, I know how to use the search function.    :icon_lol:

Well folks , I finally took the plunge after " lurking " for several months . Not sure how I'll fit in , but we'll see .

I'm Kevin , from the the great state of Georgia . I'm a carpenter by trade and I currently own two bikes . An '03
GS500 and a Beemer for longer hauls . Probably considered a
conservative , but I'm willing to listen to your point of view if you'll listen to mine .  I should probably stop babbling now .

Hi, I'm a 21 year old college student (Colgate University, a small NY liberal arts school, but at least we've got D1 athletics) and I'm just getting into riding. At the moment I'm studying abroad in London, In May in heading back to Chicago for the summer where I'm hoping to pick up a used GS500 (or anything comparable within my price range, but hopefully the GS). I'm signed up for a weekend MSF course on July 21st, but I can't wait to start riding so I'll probably try to take a bike to a nearby parking lot at nights and learn the basics.

Is anybody anywhere near Oak Park? I'm right on the western border of Chicago and after I get a bike it would be cool to find someone in the area who knew where to shop for parts and gear.

The gixxer is my third bike in about 10 years,I have only owned inline fours but like the look of the naked gs and want a commuter.I know the gs is less powerfull than its competition but I tend to be brand loyal.
